Just about Losing my S'pore citizenship!

Canada is a great Country! This is my Country now since I left good-old-Singapore for good. I'm kind of really miss all my schoolbuddies, friends and especially my siblings and family in AMK. My roots are all Chinese , my Dad is Singaporean Min nan, and My Mom is M'sian Sarawakian Chinese from Hakka origins. My two local Singaporean other siblings are still finishing their finals and graduating this year, and Jon (my number One only bro) is keen on doing his honours in Science but God did not really wanna him there so he's just got less a half point to do honours at NUS! kinda dissapointing for him but he is over it too, and maybe he'll join me here in cold Alberta , Canada to let me some warm.. hey foods i lov U all chinese yong taufoo, mee siam, char keow teow, oh durians and plus all the exotic fruits. Right here where I am in Grande Prairie, we don't get much fruits from the tropics, except bannans and pineaple (it's expensive to get one!). Next spring (2006) i will graduate wi my first degree in Christian education and I'll be home to see good-ole -Sin Ga por again! hurray! But I will too late to be a Singapore Citizen again.. since I am about to lose it on my next birthday..sad, sad..Lor! I'll be 22 by April 2006.
What do U think , am I making a serious bad mistake by giving up my S'pore citizenship..actually I loved to continue as a Singaporean and a citizen of Singapore , but the GARMEN don't wanna me to have dual citizenship, what should I do?

Since you got there, I suggest u stay there & only come back as a tourist. One fine day, i hope to do that too but not too far away, just down under in sydney or melbourne.....
But I'll still maintain my s'pore citizenship for sure just in case.................

Secretly apply for it la ! Its not like Government know.. unless they really check ur @$$ then u die la.. lots of MY ppl do it.

I am coming back - said my daughter and I am abot to lose my passport, NRIC and my citizenship papers to the Immigrations when I touch down at Singapore Changi airport in May 2006
But I really wanna Vote on time in our AMK GRC since the WPs said they are coming to stand for election there!
What can I do lOr? It is cheaper to do it in Singapore than driving to Ottawa to do it!

Why go to Ottawa? The Singapore Consulate is in Vancouver!!!
You could still keep your S'pore citizenship but then you can't apply to be Canadian. Just hold on to Canadian PR. You know? What works for one may not work for another. Everyone's situation and plans are different.
Talk to your parents. Anyways, whatever decision you make, just don't lament nor regret. Don't look back. Just look in front and stay positive. Like anything else, there is always two sides to the coin.
Alberta is a great province. No debt, no PST. There is a hugh population of M'sians/S'poreans too. Enjoy! -

Unless you have a successful business you can afford to return to Singapore and keep your citizenship. Otherwise, when you grow old here, you may find that NO ONE wants to hire you - no matter what qualifications you hold or professional experiences you may have.
In Canada/USA, so long as you can and want to work, employers won't mind your age.
Question is; which is more important to you - assured constant employment/career, or friends and relations in Singapore but jobless when old? -

I think her mind is made up to continue with her secular uni studies.. then maybe marry the right along the way or become the Premier of that little state when she get into Politics...her emotional EQ is above average BUT IQ below the normal compared wi the Garmen's president scholars! She is co-dinator and student leader in her class ! -

Plenty in Alberta...most ppl there are Christians and farmers: got to know what they stand for.. if she wanna be their Premier..BTW her adopted grandpa's grandson just got elected to represent the small town of Peace River..the riding she voted in January 2006!
