Three air force personnel and another man have been arrested for allegedly raping a Chinese national at a hotel here last night.
The woman, who has a valid visa, and the men, are believed to have stayed on the same floor of the hotel.
The 32-year-old woman entered the country on Nov 16 on a tourist visa. She checked into the hotel here only on Wednesday. The men, aged between 19 and 23 years, are attending a three-day aerobics course that ends tomorrow at the hotel.
It is believed that the men were walking along the corridor at 8.30pm when they came across the woman.
They are alleged to have claimed to be policemen and on the pretext of checking her passport, they are said to have forced her to enter their room.
Once inside, they are believed to have fondled and molested her. One of them allegedly raped her.
She later informed her Malaysian boyfriend and he is believed to have brought several friends to the hotel to confront the men.
Police were alerted to the commotion. The woman later lodged a report at the district police headquarters.
The suspects have been remanded for seven days.
