Chengdu & Xi'An

  Hi hi,
  
  I'm going these two places for ten days starting tuesday. Anyone know what's good that I can buy there or eat?
  
  I'm travelling with my school so i only have 6 hours of total shopping time , so i'm trying to blitz through it.
  
  I think the two places are in Szechuan, right? Do you think I can buy chilli back? =P Can import into Singapore?

  welcome . but your geography is poor ,chengdu is in szechuan ,xi'an is in shan xi province ,both are west of china ,go to xi an .i know .but why go to chengdu ,see what?

  oh haha. wah nice food. the pau-looking thing looks nice what's it called?
  
  eh, go chengdu to transfer flight to xian.. staying at chengdu for one night only...
  
  i think my hotel is called Queen's Crown or something like that? heard of it? I know it's queen something..

  from all the info i get from different ppl and myself.
  
  china's food can't beat singapore's food, mostly too oily for singaporean.

  singapore 's food ?hai nan ji fan?i think it is china's food ,go to hainan island ,you will find many,many hai nan ji fan there

  if u go to somewhere south of china, the food is still quite similar to what we eat at home...
  
  those at the north a bit different liao...
  
  what i heard from my fren... ppl in shanghai add sugar to their food, not salt..
  
  well as long as sth tastes good, it doesn matter what they add
  
  sugar is better than msg

  Xian is a great place to visit for the history.
  Other than the famous Terracotta warrior site, you may want to do a walk on the city walls. Apparently, it's the only city with an ancient city door (chen2 men2), not expensive to go in.
  The other nice place to go to is Hua Ching Tze (pinyin not exact) the place when Yang Gui Fei bathed in. It's now a very very nice park. Also in there is the little hut/house where Chang Kai Shek was almost shot. There's a window (now totally protected with reinforced glass) that a bullet went through.
  There's Shu Fa Jie (or calligraphy street) where one can purchase brushes, ink slabs, books....
  
  Food? Try the dumping feast at the city center. Lots of Muslim food too.
  
  Not been to Chengdu.

  you are wrong. there are a lot to see and eat and enjoy in Chengdu.
