I have only heard of Loudness and not X-Japan. So who is earlier in music scene? Maybe Loudness play English songs instead of Jap songs?

heard of Heavy Chains? ...simply amazing.. the solos, vocals and riffs.. i love the intro best.. pretty sad atmosphere.. -

Nope neber heard of this band before. For high pitched vocals I recommend the band Steelheart. They released I think 2 albums only. His voice is unique and throughout the self titled debut album the song She's Gone stood out.
I am in the midst of cutting all my 70s 80s metal hits (legally purchased compilation hits albums) into mp3 so you wanna recommend some bands? I prefer bands playing songs that have melody within noise. A la Scorpions or Alice Cooper or Micheal Schenker Group would be nice -

Wrong!!! they split b4 Hide's death...in fact Hide was having such a wonderful solo career that many were shocked he committed suicide.They were having plans to reform X Japan but scraped the idea after Hide's death.They went on to perform the song -Forever Love for him at his funeral where they showcase many of his own private collection of guitars which they later burnt for him.It also sparked alot of suicide cases as many chose to join their idol in e afterlife.Originally posted by love_metal:They broke up after Hide died. he's a good guitarist in a sense of being very expressional.
but talk about guitar god there are much more firece one outside
like slash, jimi hendrix, steve vai.
i dink each gt their own special charm and unqiue style.

hmmm, very strong statement from exco, i really beg to differ that yoshiki is one of the most over rated or even in the over rated drummer list. he's not only fast and have lots of stamina but his style of playing and such had already earn him the respect he deserve with the achievment he had with X.
i mean to each its own, but i think its really not fair to judge him this way and its an insult to all x japan fans and jrock music industry. i believe no japanese drummer can even come close to him till now. his talent and love for music and the performance for the japanese emperor, i really dont see how you gave him the title or whatever. -

yup...arguably the most famous and popular rock band to come out of japan...i think only ayumi can compete with them haha..some of their power songs include: kurenai (fav.), dahlia (another fav.), silent jealousy, X
