Some computer problems... Need help...

Don't know whether is my computer kenna virus or there is some problems in my temperory internet files... I can only save the pictures from my computer in bitmap format rather than the usual jpg, gif format etc...
At first I thought that maybe my temperory internet file is full (in fact I cleared it everyday and I reserved a space of 1144MB to it) but this problem persists...
Now it is quite troublesome for me as I have to open mspaint, copy and paste the picture to mspaint and save it in jpg format...
Does anyone here have the solution of how to fix this problem? Thanks!
BTW I detected no spywares and viruses... -
Try the simplest.. System Restore.

right click, save pic, then try if choose all files on the bottom file type then when name it put "abc.jpg". cant remember if can work anot but worth a try.

hmm.. no harm trying though a gif/jpg/etc file type will automatically be chosen over the bmp type unless the source file type is in bmp to begin with.

oh yeah.. emptying your temporary internet files won't be suffice. try cleaning up the index.dat in your temporary internet files with a privacy cleaner of some sort. that is the file that is highly corrupted in the first place.

actually u no need to allocate too much space for temporary internet files.. I only put 1MB for it... if u ask me bout saving images problems.. i nt too sure... but if u wanna know more bout virus and spyware, i can help u... try doing a virus scan and spyware scan.. recommended spybot search & destroy and adaware SE.. if no virus or spyware found or it has already been removed by yur scanner, empty yur temporary internet files and cookies... den go to system restore, create a new restore point, den go to disk cleanup, click on 'other options' den click on remove all restore points except for the latest one at the bottom. I also recommend u defragment and disk check yur com regularly.. hope all these advice can help u..

guess offline viewing is a thing of the past now.. as a rough guide, do set your temporary internet file size to an appropriate value equable to the length of your history. of course, you can do a clean-up every other day esp when you felt privacy is an issue here.

the most i set for my temp internet files is 10mb? and it won't work if you right-click, save pic as, then the file type you put all and type in yr own extension. the source file has its own format. changing the EXTENSION doesn't change the FORMAT of the pic. if a abc.gif image and you save it as abc.jpg, yr forcing yr image program to open it as jpg when its actually gif. it makes a difference if yr doing image editing. or another result may be yr saving it as abc.jpg.gif. in this case yr NAME is abc.jpg and yr extension is .gif...

tats VERY big space u reserved for ur temp files
mine is 50Mb for Firefox, 1Mb IE -
