Yes, i know several male frens of mine who are willing to spend less on themselves just to let his wife "enjoy" life and most importantly feed the family. no most of them late twenties and are workaholics. Nowadays i feel that the responsibility of taking care of kids have fallen on the shoulders of guys. But of course it would be best if both parties are willing to shoulder this responsibility.

of cos, i'll settle the bills & fees and if we still have extra, instead of giving it to her, why not set a certain % of salary and put into a shared account to save for rainy days/kids fund? -

Personally i feel that expenses like PUB, SP should be shared among a couple. Then maybe once in awhile buy something for ur wife or husband.
Both parties shd adopt a give and take attitude and not be too demanding. -

I adopt your method. Bills all I pay so no need to give her money anymore. Of cuz grocery expense must still give but extra money for her to spend on her own liking is ZERO !!!
And btw when go out together buy things I pay of cuz but draw money from our joint account to pay hehehehe. -

I don't expect him to give me any either since the both of us are working and we take turns to buy the grocery
