slipknot is DEFINATELY NOT power metal!!!
power metal is mostly positive lyrics and clean vocals with lyrics based on science fiction or fantasy themes. they also make wide use of keyboards and fast dual guitars

why are you so insistent about which genre they belong to?
they are all music in the end right? not like you gain something when you listen to which genre of music.
i believe most people just listen to whatever appeal to their ears. rather than narrowing themselve to a certain genre of music.

no but people see 'Pop' and they know what is NOT pop. Power metal is a very specific sub-class and people might not know what it is exactly, so they name metal bands. Its not like threadstarter is asking for power metal and we name britney spears and justin timberlake right? At least they're metal bands. So, sorry if we dunno wad power metal is, u could explain it nicely. Afterall the forums is for us to share our knowledge. My favourite is EDGUY (GERMANY) thou their new album (ROCKET RIDE) was a bit lame....but their older ones are good ... try EDGUY - MANDRAKE.
