PSA Scholarship

PSA sued a student for the return of scholarship fee totalling $53.5k. he has to pay a few thousand dollars of legal fees too.
the man finished with an honours degree but it just wasnt enough.
this was because he failed a few examinations and had to retake to pass. -
I mentioned about the danger of signing bonds a long time ago liaoz...........

if you fail for the 1st time, they give you ''counseling'' (which is actually to warn you.)
so, dun think scholarship very prestige~!! -
the scholarship T&C got say mus get B and above for all subjects???

few year back i was offering scholarship by several organisations. it is a good thing i nvr signed, otherwise i am in debt.

i dont understand what they are trying to prove?
even though he did fail some of the examinations but he did finish with an honours degree. what did PSA get out of suing him? just to get back the course fees? -
the person also never study properly..when on scholarship of course they expect u to do your best ma..

for foreigners..
4As for 4 A level subjects
plus 2 distinction in S papers
and B4 and above for GP..
other requirements are not clear... -
anyone here knows whether corporate specifically bank scholarships... overseas ones, what kinda scholars they looking for?

some require you to get 2nd upp and above with no failing, some dun need these requirements.
So, anyone know the exact terms and conditions of PSA sholarship?
cuz if the PSA scholarship does not write explicitly that he have to have all passes in all modules (without retake), actually PSA IS IN THE WRONG. Can COUNTERSUE them.

nono, if its not in the terms and conditions when you sign the bond/sholarship, you can counter them.

Anyway many of these scholars behave diff -
He took a scholarship, and it's only natural for the organisation which gave him the scholarship to expect decent performance from him. Failing three subjects is not decent performance, even though he retook and passed those subjects subsequently.

a couple of my frenz actually took up the psa scholarship and almost all of them graduated with a masters within a time span of 3-4 years i think........
it's the responsibility of the student to study hard...cos he is using tax payer money to study.........so actually u guys must be happy cos he had wasted ur money....hehe..........
i believe the contract did states the term and conditions as well as the conseqences incurred.....so since that guy fails to meet the expectation, most probably due to his laziness........he deserved to be punished....but to pay back the whole sum is too strict oredi...where on earth he find the money?? loansharks???haha -
sometimes the terms and conditions are also not stated clearly....for example...can someone explain to me this :
If the person breaks the bond, he is liable to pay the company the amount that was given to him by the company plus an additional amount of interest not more than that of a bank's interest rates for study loans.
can explain to me?
