i claimed a free drink just now. when they were asking for donations i donated $2, if dun donate, very paiseh. but im sure there were people who queued up simply for the free drink and did not even donate.

I love their pumpkin spice latte...that was one heavenly drink
And also the Green Tea Frappuchino...
Now they have Peppermint and Egg Nog Latte...tried the Egg Nog one already, but found it to be too cloying..

yeah, i heard of this, but never go... in singapore, can predict long queue for such promotions... why risk my life against some of those war veteran aunties who always stand in front of the train door and don't let people come out one, when door open, they dash in like nobody business.

Here's the free coffee, how about a donation?
STARBUCKS held a coffee giveaway for two hours on Thursday - the second time in two years - and I was one of the many who lined up for it. The giveaway was also for a charitable cause - in aid of the Salvation Army. This was stated in the promotional mailer.
I went prepared with some money which I dropped into boxes held by two children.
Alas, to my disgust, when they went up the line to appeal for donations, all sorts of excuse were given. 'I didn't bring any money with me'; 'My friend will bring some money soon'. Some even ignored the children.
The children were disappointed; they were heard complaining to a volunteer that few people made donations.
While I waited to see if the said friend would come with the money, I heard someone in the queue mobilising her colleagues, urging them to 'quickly come down!'. And come they did, not one but four of them, just in time to get to the counter and make off with their free coffee.
They could at least have given 50 cents. Even if they had donated $5, it would still be cheaper than what they would normally pay for their coffee.
