FOR ALL WHO TAKE COURTs HIRE PURCHASE..TAKE NOTE!!
Just some weeks ago, I accompanied a friend to Courts woodlands to get a Laptop on hire purchase.
After some intro by the salesman, we sat down to fill the formS.
I was shock to learn that their interests rate is at 24% !!!! check wif e salesman & he said "it increase already!"
Feeling something is wrong here i check wif another sale guy & was quoted 18.9%!!!!
I immediately confronted the first sales guy. It seems that he not to be out-done, he quote me back 12.4%!!??
On hearing tis, I immediately ask for the person in charge, & was told that EVERY COURTs HAS PRACTISE THE 24% RULE SINCE MID OF THE YEAR!! ....but could still give e 12.4% if ask for. My friend & i walk off on hearing tis.
We were at a cafe when my friend decided to call their customer Service to complain, only to find out that actually we have the option of 0% hire purchase!!!!!
Imagine our shock of hearing that piece of news.
From then on.. i never to walk to a Courts store again, coz it's sales ppl are so dishonest!
Beware guys, If you have to take installment from Courts, ASK FOR THE 0% choice or the 12.4 option.!!!!!
Dun let them fool you in paying your ass off! -
i guess the salesman get to keep a big portion of the interest, if you end up paying for it.

I think you're suay. We bought from Courts so many times and they always ask if we wanted the 0% or 12.4% option.
The thing you have to note is that if you take the 0% option, you have to pay the minimum repayments every month if not the interest will kick in. -

I am also shocked!!!! My goodness. To think that I almost bought a notebook from Courts earlier on and wanted to use their hire purchase. Gosh!

Courts pricing are always a bit steep. Anyway I wonder any difference in pricing if pay in full upfront and pay by installment? If no difference then everyone would choose to pay by installment rite?

Heh heh...... those courts guy though very easy to fool me, end up nearly kena sue by me!
What happen was my friend was testing a MP3 buy fr their own store! Wat happen was he was recording my conversation wif a salesman while taking installment.
After discovered the salemans bluff me, he pass the recording to me & i sent it straight to their head office addressing to their Director!! ...also treathen to sue cos salesman bluff me.
They(courts) straightway change my 24mths installment to 0% wif no extra charge to the original sales price & even get a $50 voucher plus a mouse!
(i'd checked, outside can't get this price!) -
the courts gave me very bad customer service so i try not to buy from courts

I was quite surprised to read that there are many who have had bad experiences with COURTS. I thought I was alone.
Well, there was once when I bought a Sony Camcorder, not realising that it came with freebies as advertised in the newspapers. In actual fact, I was keen to get a cheaper model, but I was persuaded to take this one up. (Fine, my fault.. since I was easily persuaded).
To my horror, I realised that the camera came with a number of freebies, so I went over to the same branch the next day. I was told by Staff B that Staff A who attended to me the day before was off. I was actually asked to return again the next day to verify with Staff A, since he was the one who managed the transaction with me. My friend, who was there with me, was apparently more quick in thinking than me, and told the staff that we live far away, and came all the way here to pursue this matter. In the first place, it was that salesperson who forgot the freebies, etc.. etc.. Staff B finally gave up and walk away to "check", as he said..
Well, I happen to have another friend who was not with me, and he was looking around for stuff when he overheard Staff B speaking into the phone. He was heard saying, "Why did you forget the freebies? Now am I supposed to clear up the mess for you?"
Anyway, I got my freebies. But you can see how good their services are, eh? Firstly, Staff A tried to promote a camera that is more expensive (which is fine if it is truly a better model) and when I get it, he did not (or forgot) that it came with freebies as advertised. Secondly, Staff B could easily have just given me the freebies as instructed. (I had the receipt, and he checked on a PC system and could even tell which model I bought without seeing my receipt I held in my hand all along.) Instead, he tried to see if he could push the responsibility back to Staff A, and if my friend had not intervened, he would not have agreed to give the freebies to us. Of course, I have the other friend to thank for having overheard the phone conversation.
So, COURTS.. anybody who works there, or are loyal to them, any words to speak up for them?

Now I know why their sale's service is soooooo POOR when I buy cash off the selves... I already dun patronise COURTS anymore, their sales person got the worst service in town.
They dun even let you check the products that you are purchasing, they will ask you to cue for payment at the cashier counter and they quickly packed the product. I once demands to check and test the product if its functioning before i make the payment, the saleman say "No, you cannot open the wraper" I got pissed off and walk off and tell myself NEVER WILL I BUY ANYTHING FROM COURTS -

No, I once check the price at COURTS wanted to buy something, can't remember it was printer or something but hesitated. Luckily I walked to another store within the shopping mall and ound it to be cheaper than what COURTS offer. but during the application they didn't fill in the 0% interest for me but the normal rate of %..
Idiot when i ask them they told me oh that 0% is for credit cards only..

i hate installments .... i rather buy things with full cash ... not say im rich or wat .... i work and save enuff money , den only i buy de thing ..... some friends i know every month got so many installment to pay ..... some friends even ask me , eh u buy this thing installment how much monthly ? i was like eh wat de fark i buy full cash la .... then they say wah so much money ar .... and i would rudely tell them save money and buy la .... now i know so many ppl buy things with installment .... buy house understand la ... but buy camera or buy laptop pay full la ... save money den buy full cash la ... no interest , and dont need to get ready next pay day to pay installments /...

Yesterday I went down to Courts to check out on the Ipod Video.
The salesman did some calculation and show me the amount I've to pay per month.
I did some mental calculation myself and found out it was 80% interest rate.
It's like a daylight robbery..!! -
