Bird flu possible deaths - - - which country is correct?

On one side we have the singapore estimates and on the other, we have USA estimates. Which one is more believable?

singapore claims:
A flu pandemic can hit up to 1 in 4 Singaporeans, though it is estimated that less than 0.2% of them are likely to die from it.
This works out to be 0.002 x 25% = 0.05% of singaporeans will die from a bird flu pandemic

USA claims:
The report says a severe pandemic could infect 90 million people in the United States and cause the deaths of more than two million people.
2 million out of total of 300 million USA population = 0.67% of Americans will die from a bird flu pandemic. -
I estimate at least 200,000 Singaporeans will die if we are hit by bird flu.

It's only an estimate. It's anybody's guess.
Bird flu have already spread from bird to other species including pigs, human, etc. But it has not acquire the ability to spread from human to human yet.
The flu we have in human can spread from human to human. The main worry we have now is if the bird flu spread to a human and then acquire the ability of the human flu and spread from human to human, then it's a pandemic. It will wipe out a big population. That was what happen in 1917. 50 million ppl gone.
According to a WHO doc, the Spainish flu and the SARS in 2003 were not destroyed, they merely disappear. It's basically God's will. Only thing left for us to pray.
