Smart or KNOWLEDGEABLE

  Everytime a child answers a question that such the answer can be learned through rote-learning, the parent calls him/her smart.
  
  But what is smart really?
  
  To me smart is solving IQ puzzles/ANY difficult problems on your two feet which the solutions CANNOT be found in textbooks and use new methods instead of old school textbook methods.
  
  Knowledgeable is recalling facts and being able to write them all out, THAT is NOT called smart.
  
  So i dont know why the hell they call it "Singapore's brainiest kid" more like "Singapore's most knowledgeable kid"
