well bro ... I suppose it's their personal choice, what seems frivolous to you may be something they've been looking forward to for a long long time ... I don't go for branded goods, I wear giordano jeans and U2 shirts ... but I've always worked part-time in school ... not because I'm saving up for a house payment or anything ... but because I needed the money to feed my backpacking and diving habit ... in the end, I suppose we all need to pamper ourselves every now and then eh ? ...Originally posted by shade343:Im merely asking them to think ahead and look at the bigger picture. Secondly, I don't think their parents will allow them to stay in the new house on their own even id they managed to buy their own house.
Thirdly, after buying the house, the property tax, electrical bills, water bills will be too much for the child to bear during school term. The extra expenditure will become a burden to the parents.
Lastly, money is used to improve the enjoyment of our lives. For some, being able to afford food, clothing and shelter is an improvement on their current situation. They can derive greater enjoyment from having food, clothing and shelter. For shade343, buying a house is an improvement and he derives enjoyment from owning and staying in the house. for children staying with their parents and are unable to stay on their own, they derive greater enjoyment from a new PSP, ipod nano etc. To all the above mentioned, their money is well spent.
