Online gaming, file sharing applications, and FREE virus scanners eats up your BANDWIDTH!
Don't believe me you try; clean up your system, install licensed genuine Norton Internet Security 2006, and I bet you it will scan and detect some malware inside you people's PCs.
Once cleaned up, your bandwidth will return.
Norton fanboy alert. You are supporting a dead product. Norton is...
[*]Bloated piece of crap
[*]Scans slowly whereas others can scan faster
[*]Memory resource hogger, in the end it really lags your game
[*]Firewall of low quality, does not follow its own firewall rules
[*]Cannot be un-installed. If you try to, say goodbye to your PC
[*]Expensive yet useless
[*]Norton's so-called Antispyware loses out to Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D
Compared to
Norton Antivirus 2002/2001, Norton Antivirus 2004/5/6 is so much lousier. I used NAV2001 before and its scanning is quick! NAV2004/5 is dead slow.
Review web-sites even say these things. Google for a few, they will agree with me.

One noted disadvantage of Norton Internet Security 2005 is that it can slow down your PC. And unless you are a Norton loyalist, other well-reputed and free alternatives are out there
Compared to Norton 2002:
I've been using Norton AntiVirus for a long time and it's simply the best anti-virus software out there. The scans are lightning quick compared to other products. (I was once scanning my hard drive with McAfee and simply shut the program down two hours later when I discovered that it was still plodding along through the Windows/System directory.)
