a major tsunami on average happens once every 300-400 years. so you won't get to see it again this lifetime. or else people won't be shocked and ill-prepared to see the tsunami that happened last year.

Dumb! How can a Tsunami wave be higher than Bt Timah hill???
If it is a huge wave, it's not so bad. Because the wave can only go so far inland, and loses it's energy.
But if it is a gargantuan displacement of sea water surrounding Singapore, then I'd say we will be better off on the highest floor of our HDB flats or any building above 10 floors.
In any case, our economy will be severely affected. It would be crappy time again - like when SARS hit Singapore. -
