Speed Typing Techniques?

Hi guys! Hmm... is there anyone who can teach me how to type fast?
I can already do it quite fast but... I'm using the "unofficial" way of typing things. And that actually causes me to also have typo and always has to retype~ Hmm... the another reason is that i would like to type while reading from a piece of paper or books. That's why i wish to learn the official way...
Is there a website or anything that teaches? anyone knows? Thanks!

there is another keyboard oother than the QWERTY one...
the QWERTY keyboard was originally designed to slow down typing as much as possible when typewriters were first produced (cos they get jammed if the buttons are pressed to quickly). this is enabled by the position of the letters. -

go to the com shops to ask for the other version of the keyboard.. i read about it in NEWSWEEK... they say that it doubles typing speed, due to the arrangement of the letters on it, even with single finger typing.

OMG! Hmm... but anyway... i can't actually bring that bloody expensive keyboard ard too rite? hehe. And say if i work... i cant make myself bring it out too. It's the DVORAK keyboard... search for it.
It's not commonly used because the QWERTY keyboard has sort of been the universal standard. It was indeed designed to slow down the typist's speed and common letters that are usually found together are placed far apart.
But, it will take abit of getting used to for the DVORAK board... -

how the hell do u position ur fingers for that?
for the standard keyboard, yeah its very important to place ur fingers in the right position, so ur able to stretch around the keyboard.. -

when u are 24/7 on the computer, u dun have to look.........
and oso familiarity with ur keyboard....
im used to my keyboard....i can type very fast and without looking...
even if i type something wrong, i can hit the backspace without looking and continue typing...
and i dun adhere to the "standard' positioning of fingers....
my fingers fly all over the place.... -

yes, practice makes perfect but the speed u reached definitely won't be faster than those who positioned their fingers......
forgot to mention, i used to type with the no "standard" positioning fingers.. yes, rofl, i can remember that i was lifting my fingers very high and fly all over the places, and most of the time, i depended on my index to hit the keys.. sounds very pathetic huh? lol.... -

we're all used to the qwerty keyboard, why confuse shit up? i'd rather stick with this keyboard than to have to learn typing a new one.
for me im using my own style of typing too. i type as fast as my 2nd sis who learnt the proper way of typing, and can type with my eyes closed. it just comes to you naturally after years of typing. -

My typing skills improved a lot after i started using ICQ last time.

I think ITE got course on word processing/typing..
I practised more during my ITE days also..
actually u can do it on ur own.. juz start from the basic.. have the correct fingering.. then start from letters to words to an article.. time urself and track ur progress.. that's all.
