Christians are much involved in life. Go find out about the church's overseas missions. I bet you know nothing about what our local churches do overseas. Find out about City Harvest Community Service etc.
To conquer disease, you need educated people. That's why Christians build schools - ACJC, AHS, ACS, MGS and what have you? Poverty vanished? Yah lah .. introduce people to the "health and prosperity" gospel! War eliminated .. yah lah that's why Jehovah's Witnesses don't want to be soldiers mah!

BTW i happen to be one of the engineers who read thru the entire tender document for the building at CHC JW, IMHO, it was not a penny wise project, very wasteful. but a dream for Gongsultants involved. -

haiz ... looking at first post ... this thread for so many month still alive ... CHC really famous? or something we mus really rant about?? (for me, its here i get to crap sumthin abt it) ... God save or not save you or me ... already piss off so many people, whether members, ex-member or just by-standers ...
as for me ... the turn-off point came when Yeow Sun turn to showbiz ... the entire church was literally split in 2 ... one side the spiritual ... the other the showbiz fans ... after 2 albums guess what ... the church was flooded with wannabes, fans and fad chasers totally ignorant of God ... but of cos Yeow Sun being totally into her part did not stop ... she even appeared in services ala superstar style complete with superstar wardrobe and speech/slang ... imagine this just as you are about to worship a God ..... *fanfare* ... superstar appears ... wannabes n fans scream ... WTH is this? but of cos ... CHC is not the only church having such episodes ... you all heard about the magic show too i suppose? of cos, he paid loads of money to buy the "magic" props and learn from pros ... my frens in this industry told me he learnt it from ppl in LAS VEGAS!
in short, God being almighty ... but their servants on earth can still be so so lost even at the altar ... *sigh*
