Heart pumping action

Argh...just now when I was transferring some files from a dvd into my hardware, I could hear a very very very loud sound coming from the disc tray. It is as though the disc was spinning out of control inside. My heart almost stopped cuz I'm not using my own computer, it's my aunt's.
So.... errr what's the problem actually, is it abnormal? Will the dvd reader spoil or somethin? It's new actually...
Edit: It was supposed to be 'heart stopping' action but ...whatever... -

Mine also get this sound. Seem the disc is not placed properly inside or the drive is getting old and used. But operation is still successful though. I was thinking maybe the drive is sending a signal it is going to expire soon?
I got 2 drive installed. The later bought one does not have this sound only the older one got sound. -
