Some of my friends are very confident leaders and speakers but they cannot do maths to save their life . Maths is practise practise and More practise
confidence maybe play a small small part 1%, like you wont feel nervous in the exam

but u must be confident to do well in math. this applies greatly to math questions that are of a higher level, eg 's' paper question. the normal math requires a lot of practise, confidence is secondary.
but for higher order math, you really need to strongly believe in yourself that you are capable of solving the problem. There is no direct way to practise those questions, even if you have finished the ten years series(if there is any), it cannot promise results. There's no limit to the ways they can twist and turn the questions.
