i know why your father is quiet but your mom is so talkative

  after a few years of relationship, guy will realize that:
  guy should not argue with his girlfriend becuase guy will never win.
  
  You do somethig wrong, she get angry and she scolds u. if you scold back, die! She will get more angry and you will have to spend another few days to pamper her back!
  She does something wrong, you get angry. If you scold, die!
  She will get angry / or cry, and you will have to spend anouther few days to pamper her back!
  
  SOONER or LATER, guys will realize that they will never win in the battle. And the best solution is to keep your mouth shut (even you are angry or felt beging treated unfairly).
  
  .... so, aftter 10 years, 20 years, you will soon be like your dad, ...
  become very quiet, don't like to talk anymore!
  
  Above is personal observation and I think it's very true.

  correct. mom talkative, dad quiet. dad supports me going out cycling. mom doesnt. mom makes noise. dad keeps quiet. dad gives me encouragement when mom isnt around.

  hmm i think tat is quite sterotypical right?
  
  since most males are sole breadwinner of the family, they provide for the family materialistically.
  
  but the mothers or wives are the pple who make the family, and take care of stuff right down to the smallest details...tatz where women gain 'power' in a marriage...
  
  so, maybe ur father lost his power only after he got married...or at least so for most couples..
  but then again i guess there are always exception where the couples make the extra effort tat there is equal power in the marriage..esp when it comes to decision making

  does it matter who win? or who has the most powerful talk? want to divorce then happy? but still, its stereotyping. Mutual respect, understanding and tolerance between both are required....

  i think that man tends to have this ego thing when dealing with their children.
  they felt that they have to show their father authority and thus cannot be too friendly. have to pull a face so the kids will be afraid and respect them.

  Women as they age develop menopause - they become temperamental very easily. I know it coz I see it in my chatty, active younger mom over my quiet, docile older dad.
  
  I'm convinced that when a women is talkative, strong in her views over every topic and insists she's right, you're wrong, she will not give the guy peace and harmony in the family in the retirement years.
