  I'm in the USA and the only Japan band that has really hit the sceene here is Loudness.
  
  My understanding is that UFO and Deep Purple are quite popular in Japan.
  
  Any of the bands you list stack up to UFO and Deep Purple?
  
  Is their popularity a myth, history, or true?
  
  Are there Asian any progressive bands in the like of Pink Floyd or Yes?

  I personally like that album (Sexy Stream Liner) the overall style is interesting.
