all i can say is not easy. a lot more factors come into play. why did u two break up, and whether both of u still bear grudges about it? are you sure you're still able to accept her/him given what she/he has done?
it's not as easy as patching up. even a severed limp when attached back through meticulous operations will take time to regain almost full control, and it will never be the same again.
if both of u patched up, don't think of restarting from where you both had left but start afresh. -
