the exchange rate at korea airport is best...compared to shopping mall and hotels..
the rate last month was about S$1 = 625 won.
Singapore rate at lucky plaza is about 600 won only.
so, if u r going to korea for holiday, do most of ur exchange at the airport -

also, the korea tour guide say S$ almost as good as US$ there.
bring some S$ in case need to exchange.
Also, there is hardly any VISA or MASTER card acceptance there....only at some shops -

there are some accessories that u can get from those night market at about 2000 to 4000 won...

Their better quality ginseng is not sold out of korea u know...only those who been to korea can buy...even their own people cant buy their top quality ginseng -

what can buy depends on the places u visit. -
1 more thing...
in winter condition...the camera battery drain out much much faster. have to keep battery warm in order to take photos.
if is cold, it wont work.
so if using rechargable batteries, have to put the adaptor for korea.
korea uses 2 circle pins...unlike 3 pins in singapore -

If possible, don't buy too much ginseng from the shops that the tour guide bring you to. you may get it cheaper at the DFS in the airport in Korea. tink the tour guide gets a big cut from the shop. The last time my mum spend US1,000.00 on the ginseng coax by the salesperson. then the tour giude lied to us that we are not allowed to bring too much ginseng back so he took our reciept saying he will help us clear custom at airport. but didn't see him do anything. there are some private shops selliong ginseng and there are many dishonest shops...selling 3 years as 6 years old ginsneg...
therefore, if is from those private shops, then be careful -

I have been to Duty free shop but the price is still much more than this government shop...bcos only government shop can wavied all the heavily tax...
also, when i charge to my credit card, there is no 3% service fee...
