If it really bothers you so much, you can go to National Skin Centre and get the Dermatologist to prescribe you Tetracyclene, an antibiotic which reputedly works wonders for acne-prone skins and pimple scars.Originally posted by wenyong90:any easy way to improve the condition?It's bothering me

It could be the antibiotics prescribed are not really helping to relieve the scars.
I have a feeling your epidermis layer is inflammed and causing the sebum buildup to clog up your pores. In addition, your skin could be irritated by the constant medication that you take.
You could try other therapies like Intense Pulse Light, a kind of laser to work on the scars but think it's very expensive.
What I can suggest is you can try apply aloe vera like Banana Boat Aloe Vera Gel which soothes the skin for a start. I used to have severe pimple problem but no acne and after applying the gel, I started to see a significant improvement in my skin and even up to this day, I have a healthy rosy complexion

Of course, you need to use right products. But do take note, everyone's skin is different, some people require the 3 step of cleansing, toning and moistoring -
If i am not wrong, Tetracylene is one of the four types of acne medicine they use. My dermatologist was suggesting other things, i think he mentioned laser surgery or something... -

Thats why my friend who recommended me NSC tell me to make appt with a specific doctor
I suggest you insist on seeing Dr Tan Hiok Hee, if he still works there. -
For cleansers, prob a cheap substitue wud be DOVE soap. If u wan to keep acne under control, prob retinol-A which is sold under the name Roaccutane. Then again, if u wan to get rid of scars, prob laser or microdermabraison

For acne scarring problem you can actually reads up on
www.acne.org The forum itself provides alot of information about scar treatment sometime more and realistic than the dermatologist could give you.
Often a derm would recomend the treatment which he provides rather than what could have been better for you which is available down the road at another clinic. Anyway I would let you know that treating acne scar could be very expensive and time consuming especially for a student it could be almost impossible. But nevertheless it is still treatable. Perhaps a series of combination of treatment could helps in treating your scaring to nearly invisible. Well that depends on your scarring type and level too.
Maybe you could give us a clearer view of your scarring problem before we could give you a better advise. -
