the heavy rain experienced over the past few days is caused by what we call a "monsoon disturbance". huge mass of precipitation was being blowed off south china sea, which was very rough these few days with strong NE winds, and they quickly cumulated while advancing into peninsula malaysia and singapore, dropping as rain as soon as it hit land areas.
next rain timing is estimated at wee hours. -

A monsoon disturbance was located in the South China Sea, north of latitude four degrees North (04N) and west of longitude one one four degrees East (114E). Sea rough and swell moderate to high from NE. Winds NE 20 to 30 Knots. This monsoon disturbance is expected to persist during the next 24 hours.
It read "weaken" for the past 2 days.
Rain expected around noon, lasting for hours. Start with Marine Parade/East Coast, blowing W/NW.
