Polytechnic Graduates
The following polytechnic diplomas are acceptable for admission to SoC undergraduate programmes. Advanced placement is based on the relevant polytechnic diploma subjects a candidate has read. Candidates with either the business or computing-related diplomas are classified under Category 2 and are required to take a placement test on admission to Computing programmes.
Category 1: Computing diplomasi. Business Informatics (NYP)
ii. Computer Information Systems/Programming & Systems Analysis/Information Technology (SP)
iii. Information Technology/Computer Studies(NP)
iv. Information Technology (Mobile Computing) (NP)
v. Infocomm Technology (NP)
vi. Information Technology (NYP)
vii. Information Technology (TP)
viii. Multimedia Computing (NP)
Diploma holders from the above eight programmes admitted to either the four-year or three year programmes in SoC will be granted advanced placement credits totaled 38 MCs as follows:
(i) 8 MCs from the University Level Requirements (one Humanities and Social Science
GEM module and one Breadth module).
(ii) 12 MCs from Unrestricted Elective Modules.
(iii) 18 MCs from CS1101(5), CS1102(5), CS1104(4) and CS2102(4) from programme requirements.
SO ONLY THE EIGHT DIPLOMAS ABOVE WILL GET FULL EXEMPTION W/O NEED OF PLACEMENT TESTSCategory 2i. Biomedical Informatics & Engineering(TP)

Diploma holders from the above programmes admitted to either the four-year or three-year programmes in SoC will be granted advanced placement credits totaled up to 38 MCs as follows:
(i) 8 MCs from the University Level Requirements (one Humanities and Social Science GEM module and one Breadth module).
(ii) 12 MCs from Unrestricted Elective Modules.
(iii) Up to 18 MCs from programme requirements based on performance in placement tests set by SoC at point of admission to NUS.
Candidates will register to sit for placement tests for the following modules from programme
requirements (Choose 4 out of 5 modules):
CS1101 Programming Methodology (5 modular credits)
CS1102 Data Structures and Algorithms (5 modular credits)
CS1104 Computer Organisation (4 modular credits) and
CS2102 Database Systems (4 modular credits)
