  a finnish PR is accused of attacking a woman outside her home in siglap.
  
  the man allegedly punched her around the left eye, drawing blood at her eyelid. next, he allegedly shoved her hard on her shoulder, causing her to fall to the ground.
  
  he could go to jail for that. instead, he is offering her $38k as compensation and an apology.
  
  but she wants $50k.

  He was overly paranoid. But I find it unfair that he can choose to compensate instead of really facing a charge. It seems like he's 'bribing' her.

  it is legal as far as the law is concerned. if she agrees with the compensation the charge will be withdrawn.

  Don't sweeten it, she's plain greedy. I doubt the treatment costs even a hundredth of that.
