How come Ang Mor Stars thank GOD when receiving their awards

Have u noticed that at any Ang mor fame awards(Oscars, MTV, Grammy, etc... ) the stars always start off with " I would like to thank GOD... " when they received their awards??
But local stars mostly say " I would like to thank Mediacorp..."
How come our local celebs dun thank GOD for their award and for giving them Singing/ Acting talents?
