it is a very ordinary show, low cost too.
it reflects the pressure the society puts on children.
it encourages children to work hard <-- both academically and artistically; the hawker's son worked hard and topped the class; and the guy who draws well won some international drawing competition
indirectly it is saying that despite our disadvantages as a small country, Singapore will still succeed if we work hard and use our giftings well.
and it also mocks the advertising agencies that employ ang moh creative directors (FT?!!) who do not understand our culture. in the end it is the local 'small' guys who could turn the client's business around because they understood the problems and could come out with the right advertising campaign.
overall it is edifying and it is a funny movie too.
