Polytechnic

  Hey for those who just finish 'O' levels..
  I wannna ask who's going to the Poly?
  
  ..err, i think i'm going to Poly because mainly i won't be able to survive in JC..
  but i have no idea what courses am i going to take in Poly..
  
  So is there anybody like me who has no plans but still end up choosing some courses in Poly somehow? Do you ever regret btw?
  
  Hmmmm how sia.. i'm afraid to choose a course which is not my within my interest and end up suffering for 2 years..
  
  So my only plan now is to go the openhouse and check the courses out for now...

  When u go to NS u have no cchoices to choose from. Treat it the same with poly.
  
  General rule: know your strenghts
  
  1) If u ar epoor in maths, dont choose Engineering
  2) if u are poor in memory work, dont choose courses like Biz or nursing
  3) If u are poor in analytical skills, dont choose IT
  
  Worse come worse
  4) If u are poor in everything, Just choose anything your heart says so ans accept it.Again up to u, Maybe u would catch up in due time with some initial struggles with the course. Mostly from observation, one's intelligence level increases very much during their teens which is why the best time to study.

  no specialty or wadsoever its all abt e same. Location is very impt. u dun wanna wake up early everyday just to travel halfway arnd singapore. Btw u can try business if ya intrested

  RP famous for PBL. Problem-based Learning. If you had gone to our Open House and tried it, you would have an experience.
  
  Anyway, we do the courses other polytechnics do, other than nursing and chinese.
  
  These two schools are what I think will probably do well
  
  STA (School of Technology for the Arts) and SHL (School of Sports, Health and Leisure)

  go for your interest rather than with the flow...surely u know that you prefer something...
  
  going for the open house is a good way....talk to the students and lecturers there...
  
  there is no stupid question...the only stupid people are those that dun ask then later regret !!
  
  Interest will sustain you whereas going with the flow are most likely to drop out or drag yourself just to complete the diploma

  let me recommend a course for you man.
  
  IR-related courses at TP, think something called resort management or what.

  So far, happy with it. Founded a CCA with a group of other friends that I had been finding, but too bad, not recognized by school.

  Never go NYP Open House. I went there last year with my friend. According to their brochures, the people there are friendly. True enough, yes. However, halfway through, we are lost and nobody helped us. We asked for directions and they say don't know.
  
  WTH. Their school they don't know. And they keep stuffing us with brochures, like people in Sim Lim Square.

  Since you don't know what you one, I'll really recommend going to JC instead. After 2 years, you go to army. Then you still have 2 more years to decide what degree you wanna take. Cuz Diploma now everywhere also got. and when you graduate, go army, come out, everyone else is holding on to a bachelor while you are still a diploma grad.
  
  But if you really want to go Poly, you could go into business, cuz from business, you can work as anything once you get the diploma cuz it's quite a generalised diploma. But the down side is, it's not very specialised, so you'll end up wondering what you can do next.

  actually if u wanna be businessman, you dont even need diploma. you just need ideas and capital and the risk-taking mentality...

  SP generally is the best poly (ppl said its the best although i in SP its like same as other poly). NYP is good for nursing, TP is mostly design, SP is business and also maritime. As for NP i not sure.
