Air Con

Hi guys and gals,
My house air con had just spoilted, thus have booked a new set to be install after CNY.
I booked a brand start with "S", as recommended by the sales guy and reasonable price.
However, after checking with some colleagues after that, the feedback of this S brand air con is not very good. In fact, one friend who have used this before criticise it till very jia lat.
Thus, would like to check with you guys, what air con system you use at home (as in brand), and any feedback? Good bad? Lasting etc etc........ Need more input now before regret. Cos i am still able to change to other brand which cost more. Pls advise.

i feel that these days, almost all brands of aircon also spoil easily. hardly can last you 10-20 years like those older models....
dun think yourself silly over the aircon if you are prepared to get it replaced every 5-10 years. my aircon repair serviceman told me that most aircons after 5-6 years nowadays require a "haul" meaning, NEW replacements....
mine is start with F and it is not 4-letter word....

In here cannot post brand name? Mine is Daikin old model left from previous owner. Posters are correct nowadays air con like all other electrical appliances are not built to last for 10 - 20 years. After say 5-6 years they start to give problems and sometimes spare parts are so expensive u rather throw and get overhaul of a new system.
Your S brand is Sanyo?

York is one of the major players in the HVAC market. If you think carrier is the largest, do reconsider.

The "S" brand i talk abt is actually Sumsung. Anybody using them? Good? The feedback i got is not cold and noisy compressor!
York is actually built in M'sia, from my understanding, and it is one of the cheapest in the market, follow by Sumsung, LG, toshiba (usually made in thailand).
Would appreciate more feedback. Understand that Daikin is good (though the current spoilt one is a Daikin, abt 6 yrs old +), and so is mitsubishi but the price is at least SGD500.00 more! To some not a lot but its still money...........

Nowadays, no matter what brand you buy.....they're either partially or wholly manufactured in China lah...and all are quite reliable too.
I've had Carrier (previous) and Samsung (current) and both worked fine for many years (both System 2). -
i no air-con. only fan. even wiv the fan, i wake up ard 3/4/5am to switch it off coz' it's too cold.

the repairman came and told me that it's actually no more gas le.. must pump in gas.. -
