Last time my mother jaywalk along Bt Timah Rd (facing Bt Timah Village, which is the present market/food centre is), caught by Police and fined $30. But she don't have money to pay the fine, so the police gave her 48 hours to pay the fine.
She should use the traffic lights as a habit of crossing the road, but she think that is not effective to use it because it is damn far away, so she take shortcut.
Wasted $30 for nothing, unless she could have done the right thing to avoid trouble.

BTW, I also got caught jaywalking before, during my primary sch time. I attempted to jaywalk to get to the opposite bus stop waiting for the bus. AT least the teacher let me off the 1st warning.
