which poly?

which poly should i choose if i were to take up accountancy as my course?
i heard nanyang poly is the best choice so any pointers from u guyz?
any also can any one explain to me wads ACCA and the time and fees for taking up this course?i went to the website but they did not say anything about it? so any kind forumers guide me on this?
one last question.. i heard that the ACCA cert is more valued that a ordinary NTU or SMU degree.is that also true?
i know i ask a lot of questions but this concerns my furture so plz kind forumers i know u are all very very helpful people can u plz guide me?
TO ADD: wad other certs are avaliable for me other than ACCA which are more valued than a degree from ntu or smu?
and also i m not taking POA now i m a triple sci student and i only haf 1 humans so will it affect me when i take this account course? -

choose the one closest to yr home.

Yup. That was precisely the reason why I pick SP. SP brand name is unbeatable. for me, I feel there's no difference in poly. I just choose the one nearest to me.
Cos if u confirm will be going for a degree after that, then any poly will do.
About ACCA. i heard about that too.. but dont have enough knowledge to talk about that. But i do have friends who went there after their degree to get a accounting cert.
I guess its just like in IT, there are skill certs that are more valued than degree itself.. -

if your want to take accounting, don't go to any poly to take the course, it is a waste of time.
go to ACCA to take the accounting course, in 3 years time, a degree world recognise cert will be waiting for you should you manage to pass the exams swiftly and will not have to worry of which place don't accept your certificate anymore.
but be warned, its a bit expensive!! -

people who apply overseas sometimes supply the overseas uni with their poly course syllabus details so as to help them make their admission decision...having the word "singapore" there wouldnt help much if the syllabus is like crap.

ACCA is a professional accounting body, well-known worldwide. Most of their courses last for about one year or so, some more, depending on which course you took. I am not sure if you can apply for a course directly after your O Levels. Besides, you don't even take POA, that probably lowers your chance of getting in.
One very good source to know more about these courses is every Monday Classified Ads. There is a section on education, whereby the schools will advertise their courses. Go check them out. Usually around page 10 of the Classified Ads.
