lots of the stocks were sold and bought - this means that the seller tought that he had found a sucker to buy his stocks and the buyer thought that he had caught a bargain.
Top gainers
usually Seller sold and make the most money. sometime he bang boss coz he didn't sell at the highest.
Top losers
usually buyers think he had got a bargain but still bang boss coz he didin't buy at the lowest

For top gainers n losers, you can infer that an important event happened recently to them. For example earnings announcements or M&A or lawsuits. Such events will move the stock more than usual and they will sit on top of the rankings as the top gainers or top losers. Something moved them there.
If it form a new/ continuous trend, you can jump in front and surf the wave.
Top volume doesnt mean much if it doesnt represent a major change, like either a spike or drop from previous averages. It will infer only that the stock is most liquid. If the top volume has significant spike or drop, you can infer the same thing like top gainers and losers, that an important event just happened to it.
