  There will be slackers, industrious students and geniuses regardless what pre-university institution (JC or Poly or CI) you enrol. It's just the proportion of such people differs. As long you are brilliant student (at JC/Poly/CI), you will definitely make it into university.
  
  if you aren't confident that you can perform well at Polytechnic, go for JC. It is a good safety-net, to make sure you get into local varsity. If you intend to go overseas to furthur your education, I think the polytechnic route is good because it saves you one year living expenses abroad and the school fee for 1 academic year if you were to enrol at an overseas university. The polytechnic route prepares you for direct entry into the 2nd year of your degree.

  i sleep in every class...onli concetrating in practs...
  
  and the 2 weeks b4 exams for tips.....easy to pass if u noe the system....
  
  and the 75% minimum attendance....the 25% left is an entitlement for u to skip class..so calculate properly..

  Be it poly or JC, wat is your aim of education? So next time can earn more money or to pursue knowledge so you are more intellectual? If earn money dun care Poly or JC see who come out more capable earn more money who wins! If for knowledge then I would say JC-Uni path will provide more opportunities to expand your thinking process. Poly more for come out earn money

  I started my day at 9am i reached home at 9pm.

  we work on our projects like siao, nowadays we stay in school until 7pm everyday and juz stay there and WORK WORK WORK. den i go home still have to study for tests and other assignments. if you gpa sux, den no chance to go local uni liao.. juzt get 1 module B, your gpa will drop and u can't replace dat lost marks and u will snowball to nothingness.
