How do I apply to a school after getting my O levels results? For poly, Is it got a form for 12 choices? Submit liao only for one poly consider or all 5 polys?
Where to submit the form? I scare maths fail how? Is it immediately cannot enter poly? -

If fail maths, most courses won't be available.
As like PSLE, you'll also receive a booklet to choose your Polytechnic with the Polytechnic's requirements together with your result slip. Make a wise choice, weigh the pros & cons of the course and don't regret. Fill in all the choices and don't just act style and only put 1 choice Polytechnic. -
your school will give a presentation of how to go about applying ur JAE before they give you your results. dont be scared. but if fail maths, be scared.

First question on how to apply to a school after getting the results. You will apply online. It is still the JAE as usual. JAE will start one day after the results are released.
Second question about the form. The form has 12 choices. You can put in any choices you like. It is not limited to poly courses only. You can put JC courses as well as ITE courses.
Third question about where to submit the form. You will submit online. Follow the instructions on the webpage. After submitting, select the mode of payment. You will pay either online or going down to MOE to pay by cash or NETS.
Last question about failing Maths. If you scored a D7 for Maths, JAE will probably be out for you. You may have to apply via DAE (Direct Admissions Exercise) if your JAE application failed. It is considered on a case by case basis. If you intend to apply for courses like IT and Engineering and Sciences, you MAY NOT get in. For other courses like design, a portfolio is required. No portfolio, and poor grades will not get you into the course. Again, on case by case basis. You have to re-take O Levels Maths after gaining entry to the poly. They will offer supplementary courses which are compulsory for you to attend. If you fail again, you will be out of the polytechnic. -

The booklet gives all the information about the JC courses, poly courses and ITE courses. Cut off points are given as well. For JC, the school ranking, CCA and stuff will be listed as well. But I don't get the last one.. So if I score a D7 for maths, I can ONLY get into IT, engi and sciences? and JAE is not a option except for DAE? Which means I will need to travel to the school?
But about the Form, I enter all 12 choices from poly, Only example, Temasek consider me or any other school with the same course will consider me?
And to blurberry: wtf? I'm immature when I don't know all these?

Course Application FAQ
How each poly conducts the DAE is up to them. Some requires you to go down to the poly, while others are online.
For the form, you can enter courses from one poly, but if you don't get in, you will be allocated to the nearest poly to you based on merit and available places in the poly. MAYBE will get into a similar course that you applied for. For example, you choose TP engineering courses, but never get in. Based on your rank, you MAY get into NYP engineering courses. -
If you want to get in to IT, Engineering or Science courses, A Maths is important. I realized that I had an advantage over those who didn't do A Maths.Originally posted by chanff8:Talking about maths

The JAE as usual but MOE says system is better this year. Lesser steps to take.
Maths failed, certain course cannot take, while some Poly will reject. But, if you are lucky, via the case by case basis, they might take you in and discuss later through supplementry classes, etc.
