  When's the last time you've pampered her ? Maybe you can tell her don't get such a expensive set of jewelry, maybe get something cheaper. Unless she's wearing those jewelry to work and her work requires her to meet clients often. That might be more reasonable.

  $4k can get you about 20 social escorts, and that's 3 weeks of making out and feeling like a king, assuming you need sex everyday, otherwise that money can spread out to last more days.
  
  I think women like the jewelry to show off to other women, and also the satisfaction that they can sqeeze that amount of money out of men, probably to remind themselves of their self-worth. The more money they manage to get out of men, they probably feel more expensive compared to other women. Personally, I really think it's dumb to buy jewelry, unless the value of them appreciates to the extent that they became an investment. So far, most of the jewelry drops in value the moment they were bought, especially when you buy them from retailing shops. Sorry if I begins to sound like an accountant, but I'm not.
