Emergency Vehicles false alarms.

Have you notice these few years, emergency vehicles now switch on their strobe lights regardless they are in emergencies?
Anyone know why they are doing this?
For police, i believe that they keep it on to make their presence known so that you "behave" and even deter crime from taking place.
But i don't see the point why Ambulance and Fire engines are doing the same thing too.
it's like you never know if they are really in an emergency.
Somemore, their strobe lights have a limited life span... keeping it on just shortens it. -

where you live at? and describe more on the ocasions where u see them using the strobes.. you can never be sure what is going on.. unless you have a scanner.. -

The driver in front just completely ignore and oblivious to the fact that there is a person in an emergency behind him. -

For police patrol cars, i seldom see them have their alarm on, even they are on emergencies. For fire engine, yes, they do on it everytime they are on their way to resuce. for SCDF ambulance, the strobe light are on if on the way to resuce and hospital.. when they are going back to their station, they don't on... but for NON-EMERGENCY AMBULANCE, such as Civic Ambulance, etc, THEY TURN ON THEIR SIREN AND STROBE LIGHTS even there are no one inside the ambulance, other than the driver... they are known as non-emergency ambulance but i don't understand why they are always 'IN EMERGENCY'. Does fetching a old person from nursing home to hospital for medical review considered EMERGENCY????????????

police car make noise, deters crime.
fire engine make noise, prevents fire.
ambulance make noise, nobody can die.
see how emergency noises are good ....

if they are really not in emergency yet use sirens.etc
then, aiyo ...
other drivers have to give them priority -
lppl lor...
you still have to give way to them.
you never know if they are really in a hurry...
unless in traffic jam... i dont give way to them. cos im always faster than them.
