Hmm... what a co-incident , a few days back , it's my chi-hua-hua 3 years death anniversary .

My chihuahua wanted to crawl out of home , she wanted to die outside , she tried , but still , she died in my dad's arm . Her liver were all dried up ..... all the whisker's fault i think .
My chihuahua is brought up by me , she's like a daughter to me , i went to work , and my dad's called me and told me she's dead , i am so sad cos i doesn't have the chance to see her off .
My chihuahua should have waited for me to see her off . -

i used to have a dog who died of old age too. he spent 12 wonderful years wif my family. he's very close wif my family and sleeping wif my bro on the same bed every nite.
before a week of his death, he was still fine, after that, he has stroke and face flat, screaming, urine uncontrolly. after that, he walked tiresomely and never slept wif my bro... maybe he knew that his days was numbered. he was a cheerful dog and i believe no other dogs can ever replaced him. -

It's a painful decision.. but we decided to put him to sleep.

i feel so sad for all of u who had lost their dear pets.... i used to have a cat more than 5 years ago. after it died, i felt so bad then i dun wanna have pets anymore.
now after years, i have since let go and am thinking of getting a dog. but after reading this thread.... i feel sad again -
It's perfectly alright for u to buy a dog. But ask yourself this: Are u willing to be a commited pet owner? Keeping a pet is a BIG RESPONSIBILITY. I must confess, i wasn't responisble enough. I used to bring him down for walks daily in my old house. But when I shifted house, there's no longer places for him to run about outdoors (I stay in a busy part of S'pore, heavy traffic ) so i stopped taking him for walks altogether. As a resut, my dog grew fat n unhealthy from lazing around all day.
Besides, u should take your pet for a checkup at the vet's every half a year. It's to ensure that ur dog is fit n healthy. I didn't do that, and I deeply regretted that now.
Do not assume ur dog is healthy just because he LOOKS healthy. I've learnt that lesson the PAINFUL way.
Although I cannot erase the guilt of neglecting my pet dog, I've learnt something from my loss.
BE RESPONSIBLE...
OR DO NOT KEEP A PET!

I've a pet hamster which died 2 years back. It was very sick for a few days but because I'm occupied with my stuffs, I didn't have the time to really peep at him until my event is over and that night I stroked him.For the past few nights, he've been trying to get my attention but I was too tired. I think he's waiting for me to have a last look at him. Died of old age or infection.

That's very sad. Unlike humans, our pets cannot complain to us when they are hurt or sick. They simply try to get our attention by all means (for dogs, its constant barking and whining ). But we were much more tolerant towards him during his final years. He's a faithful friend...loyal n loving to the end despite how its owner treated him
