Haircuts at traditional barber

I think he gives me the best haircut which not much ex.
usually a "layered cut", means he uses comb to life out the hair and trim it in progressive style...the outcome is a thin layer of fine hair but its not short.. jus medium length hairs. It is best because when my hair grows it all grows straight and same lenght.then if decide to keep it, i can grow it long without going for alterations. -
my barber cut hair.. den steal glances at the tv set to watch indonesian drama one.

I go malay or chinese male barber cuz from young already like tat. Except for my mother I dun like ladies to cut away my hair cuz I believe my hair is a source of strength for me juz like Samson. Cutting them away by a lady is like my power sucked away by a lady. I prefer men to take my power and not a lady

salon better. barber cannot wash hair one, wtf man. hairdressers in salon also can layer better and use better techniques.

My visit to the hairsaloon?
Hairdresser: "Boy, wad style?"
Me: *points at various parts of my head* "here shorter a bit, fringe dowan touch eyes, back keep long, the ends spikey abit"
Hairdresser: "Orh.."
*wash wash shampoo shampoo*
*snip snip snip *
*comb comb*
Hairdresser: "lai, rinse hair"
*rinse rinse*
*wrrrrillllllll (hairdryer sound*
*applies hair gum/wax*
*takes mirror n put at back of my head*
Hairdresser:"ok?"
me: "ok.."
*makes payment at the cashier* same routine at every single haircut! -
I remembered my first visit to a hair salon.
(looking at magazine)
Me : Hi..Could you help me cut like this style?
Hairdresser (while getting ready) : ok sure....
*Ah Loi!! Your wife waiting for you below*
Hairdresser: Ok ok!!! Ge wo Wu Fen Zhong!!!! (apparently to the receptionist)
*snip snip snip*
after 5 minutes...
Hairdresser: ok done..
I looked at the mirror.. then at the magazine...
Me : -_-"
He trimmed the sides only.. My first trip to a salon lasted 10 minutes inclusive of washing...and paid $24 bucks..I never stepped there since...

mine always cut...stop..cut stop...
sometimes can last 40mins - 1 hr .
wash n cut.

what is a layered cut har?
thats the more popular choice for guys isnt it?
and anyone can recommend some salons range $15, good ones? leave out those in CBD? thanks -

Hmm... barber shops at neighbourhood shopping ctrs are much cheaper than the ones in town. At least took 15 mins to get it done, unlike the ones at EC house.

layered cut mean different for hairdresser and traditional barber. traditional barber according to him is it means cutting the hair to "even" out and portruding, curly or uneven hair so that your hair gets a neat makeover giving a "naturally thin but dark " appearance and so it is haircut to reduce the thickness of hair according to the old fashioned barber.
if u want to go on further u can reduce the length of hair as well if u wish to.Kinda different form tapered or short hair cuts where the barber uses the machine cutter straight on the head to achieve a haircut which show a "light colouredness or the scalp skin" after the cut. Unlike layered, this form of hair cutting will change and bring out the natural shape of your head which some people dont like to. ....
after cutting layered , it also exposes the "growing hair" underneath , this "growing hair" will grow the same way it is cut but it normally will grow back untidy again after a long time till your next visit to the barber. -
Short and simple - if u saw the barber pull out his customer hair with a comb, holds it and cut it with the machine or usually scissors, he's doing a "layered" cut where the hair remains dark in colour but just gets thinner or slightly shorter
If he doesnt but using machine cutter straight on the head he is doing a "style" cut like high slope, mushrooms, 2-finger slopes ect where your hair show some "light colour or scalp skin" after the cut. the shape of your head also changes -
