  no matter what, in an asian society, getting married and having kids is seen almost as an given, as something that needs to be done. but I personally think its up to the individual lah. If u cannot find the right person, cannot anyhow marry mah, later end up in divorce is back to square one.

  One does not need a spouse to overcome loneliness. Some married ppl are also very lonely when they lose that emotional connection and communication. With friends, involvement in hobbies and the community, a single person won't have to feel lonely.
  
  I'm married lah, but it comes with a whole host of obligations and responsibilities, and loss of freedom to a certain extent. If I can do it all over, I'll probably choose to be single.
