What if its a family tradition ? Gangs were formed to solve domestic and fellow chinese problems. WHen in a foreign land , u can only rely on ur own kind. Slowly it got corrupted and got associated with all the vice activities. But is it thier fault ? We provide jobs.. . There are 2 kinds . The aggresive and the passive kind. why is the human race divided into countries? is it because there is too many people for one man to control?
why do we have various community groups in our country?
why do we live together as a family and not spread apart?
why do we always feel lonely when we are isolated from our fellows?
why do we need friends and hang out as a group and not alone?
why do we always desire companionship?
It is because it is human/animal instinct to do so.

the only reason why we consider ourselves number 1 is because we have intelligence above all other creatures and it is this intelligence that allows us to analyse a situation and come up with a solution, unlike animals who rely on instincts alone, though some use their brains. we are one of the weakest species on this planet, yet we now populate almost all parts of the surface because we are able to see reason and form consequences. However, if humans were to be stripped of their intelligence and their technology, we would never have survived in the wild. we would be far too weak to defend ourselves from mass extinction by thousands of predators that hunt us daily...
You need knowledge to survive, not joining any gangs !!! playfights in the animal world are violent but not damaging thats becos it part of their learning process but gang fights are violent and damaging and sometimes fatal. So what lesson do they learn after gang fights ???? nothing !!! -

this thread is nonsense to begin with...trying to equate man to animals so as to justify the beastility instinct.....lions group together because they need to do so in the african open plains to hunt and protect themselves. tigers on the other hand are mainly solitary animals as they live in jungles where they are well camouflaged to hunt and be protected. basically, whether animals form groups or otherwise have to do with their environment. just to digress a little, for those still unsure if sang nila utama spotted a lion or tiger, the answer is a tiger because temasek had dense forests.

let me tell u something about joining a gang..
*anything i say here cannot be used against me in the court of law.....
i am not sure how the so call "gang" works in Sg..
i remember it quite clearly...i was in form 3..(from evening school to morning lessons)...
it was a norm (yeah norm) to be enrolled into the gangs....hai san.. triple111....etc etc......obviously it's not bcoz of will power that i refuse to join...
u are REQUIRED to join the gang..if not u will be beaten up by them or other gangs(without yr own gang's protection)/
.....lets say it all begins when a member of the gang approach me ...and asked me to join it..
will power? my foot!...i told him off..i am not interested in joining any gangs...
and u r required to pay rm 25/week to them as yr "protection" money..
man...i told him off and he said..watch yr back..so i say i will(bad choice of words)...
one day when i was walking back the gang leader come and talk to me....
i pissed in my pants...20 of them....hasseled me and i reluctantly joined them bcoz of fear.....
first ly it was cool u know the///...protection thingy..no one dare to messs with u and u could bully other students?.
but then as time wears on ...the gang begins to have fights with other gangs...
i;m in a C gang...who always had trouble with the M and I gangs...
one day my boss asked me to join in the fight,,,i was damn scared but i went there anyway..around 20 people was there suddenly they alll started bashing each other...i ran for cover in the toilet.... but the rival gang members found me and bashed me up..
i lost my front teeth...a portion of it..
and got a broken rib....stayed there (hospital) for a fe days...and after i was "released'..i got a tongue lashing from my own boss who slapped me calling me a coward!..after that they began to target me daily...pushing scolding bad words..etc etc..u know what i mean.....
and when i wanted out of the gang they ask me to pay rm 500....
i refused..and the tortue ..
and i have to change my school and my relocate to kl...
see...being a gang is not up to u...
and it's definately not COOL....
avoid it if possible...ask yr teachers for help..i regretted taking the wrong path..
luckily i manage to grow up to be a fine lad who is currrently studying in aust..
though the toth didnt 'regenerate'
