  while I am not exactly thrilled at the coffee price increase...the news reported that the last increase was 10 years ago...and the increase this time is 5 cents to 10 cents....so I think its still OK...for the kopitiam
  
  starbucks and etc should be able to absorb the increase...if they choose to...but my guess is that they wouldnt.

  nothing remaisn the same forever. just as long as the increase is justifiable, den i guess it's easier to swallow.
  
  not like cigerettes. suka suka increa$e a few buck$. Luckily this year no news yet of the increase.

  yes, its sad that ill have to pay more for my tea in future
  
  but if you read the news (few months ago), global coffee beans prices are getting higher...so i dont really blame them, but i think they deliberately raise the price at the same time as the uni fees are raised so we wont feel the pain so much......(compared to each stuff raising in different months, then newspaper have alot to write...)

  Normal process... when labour increase ( in terms of plantation), price of land, seeds, fertilise, transportation cost,etc,etc... have to increase.
  
  The demand is much higher than they can produce... so the price go up too.
  
  Ask urself.. if ur salary remain the same for 10 years... do u still want to work there? The importer and wholesalers are forced to increase due to the above reasons.
