ya..i feeling indigestion now..Originally posted by dominicsoh:I heard its bad as blood around stomach (for food digestion) flows beneath skin surface when you're bathing.
This causes indigestion and possibly some other problems. Not sure how true this is.

i disagree. here is whyOriginally posted by Aveme:well bathing actually cool down the body and thus lower body metabolism rate? so you burn less of those calories away and end up with more fats to store around the body?
Same reason as why we actually should not be drinking cold drinks with our meals,it cools down the body and thus lower metabolism to burn away your meal and thus overtime get fatter.
well you have said it yourself that higher or colder body temperature actually raises metabolism. So if you do nothing after a meal, the body will do more to adjust to normal temperature and thus higher metabolism, but if now you take a bath to help in this process of adjusting to normal temperature,it means the body has to do less work and thus metabolism would not be as high as it should be if a bath is not taken?Originally posted by coffeeortea:i disagree. here is why
lower body temperature does not = lower body metabolism, in fact, your body has to burn more energy, and work harder, to bring your temperature back to normal
the same goes for high temperature, when your body is too hot, energy is released to try and bring your body temperature back to normal.
based on this logic, the time when your metabolism is lowest is when you are feeling normal.
also, more food = higher metabolism.
there have been many arguments between doctors/scientists and etc. one example is
when the body temperature is cold, it needs to work harder to bring the body temperature back to normal, however, one way of maintaining heat is not to lose body fat, so.. it might be a win lose situation, with the increase of metabolism but decrease of fat burning.
it is kinda hard to explain, but just know that to achieve the optimum peak of metabolism without gaining a disadvantage of something else is pretty hard to do, which is why it is best if you experiment yourself. dont take it to the extremes though =D
i understand what you mean, you do have a point there, unless your temperature does not rise whenever you're eating.. then i have nothing to say.Originally posted by Aveme:well you have said it yourself that higher or colder body temperature actually raises metabolism. So if you do nothing after a meal, the body will do more to adjust to normal temperature and thus higher metabolism, but if now you take a bath to help in this process of adjusting to normal temperature,it means the body has to do less work and thus metabolism would not be as high as it should be if a bath is not taken?
