formating my comp.. do u feel very anxious when u format ur comp? every time i format very xin jing dan tiao.
fingers oso feel weak, every screen muz read trice before continuing, when it says delete? really delete? really really delete!? den suddenly piak! wtf!?
scary shyte. anyone else oso dat nervous?

Luckily I have a big back-up harddisk. But will feel very irritated because have to install applications back again. -

omfg my computer now stalled at the screen where it shows bios n cpu info.. wtf happened!? i juz finished format den it reboot den stucked le.. i reboot still stuck there.

Just let it be... Sometimes Windows reformat can take like half an hour before the screen moves on

i have a cd which contains all my neccessary software. just need to install everything in the cd can liao.
and i have a backup hard disk which i can move all my stuff into it before formatting. -
good practise is to partition your hdd...one for OS + application, the other for your data.
never fails me with this method -

things that I dun want would not be there after format...
things that I want...still wouldnt be there after format...
so why anxious? -
good practise is to partition your hdd...one for OS + application, the other for your data.
The problem with some software is they tend to install their dll or some other shared files into the OS partition (usually assume to be C:\) or whatever drive the OS is installed in. This 'contaminate' the OS partition.
So just do a copy of the software into the application partition will not work after reformatting. You need to reinstall those software to get back those dll and shared files. Data files will have no such problem.
The safest way is to ghost it using Norton Ghost. A heavily used software for backup purposes. It is like doing a byte by byte copy. -
