hawker centers like
1. changi village serving from famous nasi lemak to ipoh hor fun, wan tan noodles to coconut drink and nice nice big bowl cheng teng to yummy pancakes and spicy hot BBQ stingray. prices here is the usual hawker center rates from $2 onwards.
2. holland village serves yummy laksa, noodles and other restaurants (chinese, jap, eng, italian, french, spain-ish
, etc) prices here generally more expensive. from $3 onwards.
3. maxwell market have fish porridge, hot hot buns, self-fried ham jin pan (normal or sugar coated n $1 for 7 small ones), chicken rice, bean curd and the works. from $1 onwards.
4. hougang ave 7-8 kopitiam (opp punggol park) serves nice western food.
5. bedok blk 85 market is another fav that both youngsters and oldies like to go and chomp down their fav food.
6. chomp chomp garden serves alot of BBQ food like stingray and the works. big tall glasses of sugar cane juices for those to wash down their oily food after that.
7. jalan kayu for prata, nasi brayani, teh tarik or just some ice milo.
hotels like
1. shangrila buffet is a must try but will set u back at a whopping $68+++ prepare to go and feast till you drop. ambience is perfect for couples celebrating their anniversay to friends gathering for a good time.
2. mandarin orchard's chicky rice. dun need more intro right?
3. swissotel has a nice thai restuarant...forgotten what name it is. nice lounge too.

chomp chomp garden is located at serangoon gardens in the north of singapore.
fav food like BBQ chicken wings, various porridge like pi tan, porkmeat, fish etc. they come with egg too! the noodles there are QQ too. sugar cane juices, if not go for fruit juices or normal drinks at kopitiam prices. others have tasted western food, satay, oysters omelette, otak etc. -

the kopitiam located near to the 'no-more' existing macdonald's? there're 2 kopitiams...let me break down:
first KPT (kopitiam) nearer to the row of shops-
1. have western food which alot of our malay bros frequent. their spring chicken is nice...i guess most of thier chicky products are nice if u r in the mood for it. a bit oily though. pls take note...
2. chinese stalls selling cooked food like noodles and such...i think there's one that sells bak chor mee...not too bad...quite a few takers since the last time i'm there.
second KPT (nearer to the main road)-
1. i liked their abalone strips noodles. value for $$ as its $3 per bowl. noodles however can improve somewhat on the quality. overall not too bad.
2. the western food in this KPT is defi better than the other KPT's. although both tasted heavenly but this store is not too oily. most of the chicken stuff sells out by midnight and if u r lucky can get some specials too. shall not disclose
3. there's a stall selling soups. if u r a soup person, try to catch it early as it closes pretty early these days. biz too gd??
4. mixed rice store is another store that is gd. freshness is the keyword here. most of the stuff are cooked on the day itself. boss will not want left overs. normally discard is not sold out by closing. ensures freshness this way but what a waste...no choice.
5. desserts here is rather ok. one up from the other KPT
cleanliness is better at the 2nd KPT. feels brighter, more airy.
btw, if wanna romantic setting...go to the nearby fisherman's village for a drink or two...who knows, i may catch u there. -
