as above been looking for places that sell cheap ones. any u guys with got to recommand?

i think the prices are controlled..as such the prices are more or less the same..
maybe slightly cheaper if u get it from those ulu optical shops.. -
no such thing. all will sell at full retail price....
but i suggest you go to neighbourhood optical shop (non chain)..
they can do magic with the receipt!!
they are not that flexible with pricing because distributor enforce pricing. -

i will end up paying about $1000?

ya can change the lens into custom lens with degrees. Mine is 600+ degrees each side. It takes some time to get used to the curved lens, maybe around 2 weeks. The vision you get is not similar to your normal spectacles. The lens will cost you around 90buxx which is what i paid. I think they make the lens at the same place where they send all the spectacle to do lens. Sending your frame to USA to do a custom oakley lens will cost you 3 times what you paid for the frame. It is that expensive! One thing about this frame is that I realise it doesn't adhere to your face well....going down to larrikin(oakley official distro) to see whether they can modify the frame to stick to my face Bought the frame in Jan. Btw if you have more time than money, go look for the same frame on auction sites, make sure the seller has the warrantee and buy it to convert to specs...but i dunno whether that's covered under warrantee. I assume it should be, given that my retailer told me to go to larrikin if there's any problem with the frame even after I had it converted.

there's no point getting just the frame only for cycling,because during cycling we might encounter some dangers which could pose a threat to our eyes, therefore with oakley lenses we feel safer with it because it contains impact protection technology
re ponders: youwill need to pay a few hundred dollars more because your prescription will be specially made for you
fives2.0 might be soldout because fives 3.0 is repliacing them all

anyway she's right...it'll cost $1k which is kind of ridiculous to pay for eyewear. It's not like there's a lifetime guarantee on the lens or something 
And that's only the lens mind you. Frame i think only one year guarantee against product defects, no wear and tear.
Anyway I paid 90 for my lens. I don't know what's the quality diff between $600 lenses and $90 dollar lens cuz i've never had the chance to try out $600 lens. My 90 bucks work for me tho'

The lens , besides the pellet protection thing. its also minimal distortion, meaning the surrounding would not be so distorted even though the lens is 'curved/Wrap' shape. However, cos of the minimal distrotion thing, it would make the lens scratched more easily when drop or careless handling. So, i guess that's why its so ex to make a prescip one.
But when buying, better to buy from authorised dealer. If not, when repair. Need to pay additional $$ for that. -

cheap oakley is like an oxymoron lor .....
but i recommend the Bugis oakley shop on the ground floor ... prices are about the same everywhere ... the difference is that the service is damm good, you can try all you want, they'll call up other places for colours, staff is friendly, even gave me another set of nose bridges when i bought a pair over there ...
anyone knows the actual name of the shop ? ... -
