let me ask you something then? Did you do anything to the staffs that made them not welcome you?Originally posted by mamamamama:Just now i go Swensen's with my friend for lunch..
dam disgusted by them..
First, we ordered 2 main courses which took a freaking 35mins to arrive!
35mins! Even the RI students who arrived 15mins later then us were served their food first
Next, the staff over there purposely dowan to refill our drinks.. The other customers all had their drinks refilled..
Lastly, our desserts were only 1/3 the size of what the other customers had! same dessert but 1/3 the size..
What is wrong with them man! i did not even complain about waiting for so long.. i merely asked the staff whether our food was ready..
Never gonna go there again..![]()

Any one with similar experience while at Swensen's?
ok bro for ur first scenario, why the malay couples were served before you is becuz they made their reservations via phone call. you might see the empty tables but they are actually reserved by those who booked thru phone. one thing not good is that swensens dun implement by putting a reserved sign at the tables. this is their fault. as for the reason given that they didnt see you. its lame i admit but maybe cuz it was peak period and everyone was busy so tend to make mistakes but maybe the manager really didnt see you. i do too. if you were in their shoe you will know. no need get so upset over this.Originally posted by dork3d:Me had two bad service encounters with Swensons:
1st Incident:
Me and my fiancee went to Plaza Singapura Swensons, intending for dinner after our show. They had a sign that read "Please Wait To Be Wait", so we waited for the staff to bring us to our seats. We were first on the queue and there were more than 10 times that their staff saw us waiting at the queue line and there were plenty of empty seats in the restaurant and they pretended not to see us (including the staff behind the cashier counter and the restaurant manager). It was already 25 minutes passed on and we were fed up. We left for other options for our dinner. Just as we turned, there were a Malay couple entering the restaurant, and guessed what? THEY WERE SERVED TO THEIR SEATS IMMEDIATELY WITHOUT A SECOND OF DELAY! Me went back to query the restaurant manager why there were such a big difference of service rendered, she mentioned that she didn't see us and no one used the walkie-talkie to inform the other staff. How ridiculous! Reason given was "can't see us", or because of the fact that me was just wearing a plain singlet and bermuda with flip-flops which they thought sublimnally that me couldn't afford to pay for my bill and the other in branded clothes, appearing to be rich.
Conclusion: Super lame reason and poor excuse!
2nd Incident:
Me and my fiancee went to Northpoint Swensons, and our dinner went quite okie from the start this time round. We were promptly brought to our seats on the upper section of the restaurant and it was a two-seater table next tot the staircse, overseeing the kitchen when the chefs were busy with their food preparations. We placed our orders and waited for the food. Me was seated on the seat which had a direct view into the kitchen. Guess what me saw? It was my most horrid views in my life!
1. Food that were dropped on the food were picked up, rinsed with running water and put back on the serving plate!
2. The chefs at work didn't wear any gloves on their hands when in contact with food, including the raw meat!
3. One of the servers had running nose and he blew his nose, wiped his fingers on his apron, didn't wash his hands, and with his thumb sticking into a plate of pasta!
4. One of the servers snicking away with the customers' food while on the way bringing the food to the customer!
Me saw my order came, and out of the four horrors, pointer 2 and 4 occurred to me. Me just stood up and brought my fiancee out of the restaurant without paying. The restaurant manager went after me and insisting me to pay even me didn't consume my food. Me told him on the horror views and what happened to my food in the preparation process in a rather loud manner that other customers in the restaurant overheard and dropped their utensils, looking at their food with doubts. The manager in embarrassment went to check on our claims and when he returned after checking, he was very apologetic and waived off our bill.
Me've tried with emailing a letter of feedback but no relay for the management.Originally posted by playboy_1985:ok bro for ur first scenario, why the malay couples were served before you is becuz they made their reservations via phone call. you might see the empty tables but they are actually reserved by those who booked thru phone. one thing not good is that swensens dun implement by putting a reserved sign at the tables. this is their fault. as for the reason given that they didnt see you. its lame i admit but maybe cuz it was peak period and everyone was busy so tend to make mistakes but maybe the manager really didnt see you. i do too. if you were in their shoe you will know. no need get so upset over this.
as for ur second scenario.. i nothing to say. you shld write and complain.
Maybe that personalized service was due to the celebrity in the group?Originally posted by Michaeled:after reading this post, i have to admit, i'd have to keep my eyes open when visiting swensen's again. I always thought the service there is okay. there was a time i went out with a few friends, one of whom had a celebrity girlfriend, we were seated promptly and the manager served us personally, which i thought was a nice gesture. forgot which branch it was, somewhere near chinatown. so all along i thought the restaurant was quite respectable.
