You want course in dialect? Can...just go visit those old folks in nursing homes and try to communicate with them lor. Got wide variety of dialect to choose from there, maybe even other languages if you lucky

on the other hand can try those "huay guan" or clan association....dunnoe whether they give formal lesson anot. How come your dialect never pick up from parents or grandparents?

The sins of the parents are indeed visited on their offspring. I'm cantonese and don't speak a word of dialect at all, except for the usual hokkien vulgarities that you learn in the army Learning a dialect is a goal i want to achieve in the near future.... -

For cantonese maybe you can rent those hong kong drama to watch.
My friend always watch them and she speaks real fluent cantonese -

Now y d'you need dialect stuff. Chinese, Real Chinese is whats you shoulds be learnin. Anyways if you really wants em dialects can be learned in neighbourhoods or them chinese friends/schoolmates. sees no money spent. can be picked ups like that easily.
