A 30 year old Polytechnice Officer in SAF (usually LTA or CPT) $2400-$3200.
A 30 year old Polytechnic Specialist in SAF (usually 1SG to MSG) $1800-2800
A 30 year old security guard $25-45/day
A 30 year old Bank Officer $3000-3500.
A 30 year old Manager $2200-$20000.
A 30 year old odd job labourer $400-3000.
hmm.. you add all of them.. and divide.. you get the average. -

By right if you are at 30, you should have tons of experience in a certain area and your pay should be around 2k or more. Could be lesser if you hop around, play around, change jobs often and such.......

Someone told me it should be relative to age.
When you are 25, $2500
When you are 30, $3000
When you are 50, $5000
If you are anything more than that, you are doing better than average.
Some truth there actually. Say you graduate with a university degree at 25, your salary could be $2500.
Given a $100 increment a year, that should be it...
But if you are a hawker that sells laksa like me, you make a lot more. That's depending whether your laksa taste good or not. -

Average pay? Depends on who and what profession you're referring to.
Administrative Service officers in the Civil Service typically receive $3500 as fresh grads (24-25yrs old), and around 6k at 30, while their clerks probably something like 1-2k.
SAF specialists probably around 2-3k, while SAFOS scholars around 7k for the approx 50% of them who become LTCs at around 30yrs.
Doctors at 30yrs are usually hospital Registrars or newly-established GPs, taking home around 7-8k.
Teachers... depends. If you're one of those China-imports specially invited by MOE to teach chinese in schools here, your starting pay is 4.5k... yes, sounds crazy but true.
Lawyers... also depends. Outstanding ones earn alot, whilst some quite miserable.
And not forgetting that if you join PAP and get elected into parliament, your pay is 13k.
So it all depends. -

Sounds from Cornyfish that working in civil service and saf is paying so good hor. All paying more than 5k.
I also realise that young people (studying poly and uni) are having very very high expectations. Some tell me that getting $10k a month is very little. I think I will not be able to reach this kind of standard.
I feel I am simply behind the race, and cannot catch up. Anyone feel so? -
